On October 14, 2022 I picked up my 1995 993, which was dropped off in 2014. The battery, which was new in late 2016 was dead, despite there being a disconnect switch, it was left on.

The engine would not turnover even with a new battery, the cylinders were full of oil.

Here’s the condition:

  • Passenger door window nonfunctional
  • Mirrors not functional
  • Alarm lights in doors permanently on
  • No power to power door locks, lock with key works
  • After draining oil and removing plugs, refilling, car cranks but will not fire, no fuel, pump most likely seized form Ethanol
    • Fuel pump OK
    • Timing sensor destroyed, no idea  why.
    • Runs now
  • Front bumper gaskets not installed, sitting on passenger seat
  • Fender to cowl trim original, though replacements supplied
  • Sunroof seal missing though new was supplied twice
  • Dent in driver’s door about the size of a quarter
  • Scratches on door through to primer
  • Scratches on front bumper through to primer
  • Large clear cat drip on spoiler
  • Buffed  though clear on drivers fender
  • Overspray on sunroof panel
  • Cracks in splitter
  • Hollow ring from  doors when closed as if sound deadening removed
  • Front bumperette  trim blocks missing
  • And that’s just before washing it!
