On October 14, 2022 I picked up my 1995 993, which was dropped off in 2014. The battery, which was new in late 2016 was dead, despite there being a disconnect switch, it was left on.
The engine would not turnover even with a new battery, the cylinders were full of oil.
Here’s the condition:
- Passenger door window nonfunctional
- Mirrors not functional
- Alarm lights in doors permanently on
- No power to power door locks, lock with key works
- After draining oil and removing plugs, refilling, car cranks but will not fire, no fuel, pump most likely seized form Ethanol
- Fuel pump OK
- Timing sensor destroyed, no idea why.
- Runs now
- Front bumper gaskets not installed, sitting on passenger seat
- Fender to cowl trim original, though replacements supplied
- Sunroof seal missing though new was supplied twice
- Dent in driver’s door about the size of a quarter
- Scratches on door through to primer
- Scratches on front bumper through to primer
- Large clear cat drip on spoiler
- Buffed though clear on drivers fender
- Overspray on sunroof panel
- Cracks in splitter
- Hollow ring from doors when closed as if sound deadening removed
- Front bumperette trim blocks missing
- And that’s just before washing it!
